Belgium

Belgian Flying Disc history: In 1967, Mr Manu founded the frisbee company Manu S.A. and started making frisbees. Manu got Wham-O's license to manufacture frisbees in 1968 and production probably stopped in 1970. Manu S.A. produced regular frisbees and mini frisbees, but there is no absolute certainty. In addition, Manu S.A. also made at least the Planta frisbee. The Belgian Flying Disc Association was founded in 1977. The founder was Jacques Doetsch. Jacques founded also the Tsansind frisbee shop in Brussels at the end of the 1970s. Three significant frisbee competitions have been organized in Belgium. In 1980 the Frisbeegolf European Championship was held, in 1982 the Individual European Championships were held and in 1988 the fourth World Ultimate and Guts Championship is held in Leuven, Belgium.
